Devil's Canyon (2005, TRT 6:10)

Devil's Canyon weaves together a narrative growing out of a collection of abandoned images and super 8 landscapes of the American West. Mechanical horses, a doomed automobile town, and distressed cowboys are composited into a tale of American tragedy. The death drive of the landscape of the Old West infects the people, ideas and hopes of those who reside on it.

Devil’s Canyon belongs to a series of dystopic manifest destiny tales crafted from found images that are transformed into animated fictional documentaries.
